Neil Stewart
A highly creative, dynamic and editorially focused Broadcast Editor with more than 27 years of broadcast experience, working with and without Directors and clients, both offline and online to transmission standards up to AS-11 file-based delivery. Has worked on programmes for BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, Arts and Entertainment Network, Al Jazeera English, Sky One, Sky Sports and various corporate clients. Able to seamlessly work within any genre, demonstrating a strong story-telling ability and journalistic thinking which has led to the development of a varied and long-standing career. Brings to the fore a wealth of compliance knowledge, with an understanding of the related legalities; ensuring best practice at all times. People focused with the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels, engaging with technical resources and getting the best out of people and content. Greatly enjoys knowledge sharing and has been part of the team who trained BBC staff on FBD for the BBC Academy in Salford. Has covered all levels of editing and production across documentaries to entertainment, archive shows to sport, children's to commercials, pop promos and high-end corporate. Has established an edit facility which has full, legal and current Avid Media Composer and Premiere Pro software which delivered full-spec, TX-ready programmes to the BBC during the pandemic and is set up for seamless remote working.
